Our deaf ministry is designed to help meet the spiritual needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals who wish to participate in the many programs and services offered at Church of the Redeemer. Sign language interpreting is provided for our Sunday morning service at 11 a.m. and, upon advanced request, Wednesday evening service at 7:15 p.m. Please see our Interpreted Services link for more information about requesting an interpreter.

The Deaf Ministry strives to bring the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community together through special activities such as sign language classes and other events.

Mission

As part of our mission to communicate the wonderful news of Jesus Christ to our local community, Church of the Redeemer has developed an outreach ministry to serve some of the spiritual needs of the Deaf community in Montgomery County, MD. Understanding that the spiritual needs of the Deaf community, as with any particular group, are numerous and varied, the Deaf Ministry of Church of the Redeemer has a threefold objective to provide spiritual ministry to the Deaf through:

  • Signed interpretation of church services, Life Groups, and other events.
  • Integration of the Deaf community into areas of service within the church.
  • Providing regular fellowship opportunities for the Deaf and hearing community.
