Sundays & Wednesdays at their Home Campus
The Surge Internship is geared specifically for students in grades 9-12. The program is designed to train students in their leadership capacity. Our goal is to have students capitalize on their summer hours and learn more about Jesus, His word, His church and His creation! The program consists of many different classes, events, outreaches, etc. The Surge Internship is a create opportunity to create new friendships and truly develop a deeper relationship with Christ.



Equip students to pursue an intimate relationship with God.


Empower students to build the local church.


Inspire students to engage their circles of influence for Jesus Christ.

8:00 am - 1:00 pm attend and serve at their Home Campus.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Clarksburg Campus.

2:00 pm - 9:00 pm at their Home Campus.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Clarksburg Campus.


How do Shuttles Work?
Shuttles are provided for our Frederick and Gaithersburg Campus. Students must be at the campus by 9:15 am. On the application, please indicate if you will be utilizing this great resource during the summer.

Will Lunches be Provided?
No, Lunches are not provided. However, every Monday there will be pizza for sale ($1). Students will have access to refrigerator, a microwave and a café across the street. Pizza will also be for sale on Wednesday before Elevate Gatherings.

What does Home Campus mean?
Church of the Redeemer is a multi-site campus church, as is the Surge internship. On Wednesdays Students will have a later start at their Home Campus, rather than meeting at Clarksburg Campus to build that Student Campus relationship! Also, Sundays are a Home Campus serve day as well!

What is a Binder & Memory Verse Check?
At orientation, students will receive a Binder with weekly Bible Reading and Memory Verses. They will be tested verbally on their Memory Verses and Binder Checks will be graded by Surge Staff on Thursday afternoons.

What are Outreaches?
Outreaches will take place all throughout Frederick and Montgomery County. Shuttles will be provided for students to and from locations for the afternoon. Outreaches will include activities such as: Park Cleaning, water bottle handouts and much more!

There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. Applicants must be high school students, willing to commit to the full 7-week schedule, and commit to the Surge Honor Code.
